Club Update: Storm Ciaran

Dear Members,

Firstly, I hope you are all okay and made it through the night without any damage to yourself or loved ones.

The Club has again been subjected to extensive damage this year following last night’s storm. We are still assessing the damage to the facilities, however, at this point we do know the 4-court bubble has been destroyed and the 2-court bubble has suffered minor damage which we hope can be repaired. The artificial clay courts appear to be okay thankfully– with only some minor damage to the fencing.

Given the short-term weather forecast, the club will remain closed today and tomorrow.

Squads will be cancelled for the rest of this week and the Saturday afternoon club session is also cancelled. This will allow the full extent of damage to be assessed and a plan put in place for returning to operations.

Nets will need to be re-erected when conditions permit as these were taken down prior to the storm.

We thank you for your understanding and patience. Please contact the club via club-communications@ctc.club if you are able to assist in any way.

At this stage, we are still proposing to hold the AGM next Saturday 18th November at 4:30pm. The Notice is scheduled to be issued tomorrow.

Finally, the Island Padel Club in St Clements has been devasted with two indoor courts destroyed and the third unplayable. I would like to express my sympathies on behalf of the Caesarean Tennis Club to Morgan and Scott and wish them well as they rebuild and offer our assistance where we can.

Kind regards,

David Rasmussen Chairman
