Club and Court Repairs, Clubhouse Bar, Junior Inter-Insular

Club and Court Repairs

Following Storm Ciaran, the necessary repairs to the 2 court bubble will now take place on Saturday the 2nd of March. Engineers will be arriving from Belgium on Friday 1st of March to prepare and the work is expected to be completed in 1 day. However, should there be any unforeseen difficulties the work will be completed on Sunday 3rd of March. Members will be advised nearer the time regarding any court time disruption.

The fences are due to begin replacement works on Tuesday 20 February, from which time all four outdoor hard courts will be closed while the work happens. It's possible that we may be able to put some of the courts into use during the work, but we won’t know till we can take advice from the workmen on site during the replacement.

Clubhouse Bar

We have recently had a successful preparation meeting with the new bar operators and are still on course for the official opening on the 1st of March. The new operation will be called Bellas at the Caesarean and we will be announcing expected operating hours soon.

Club Gym Room

Members are advised that Karen Barnes will no longer be operating the gym as a commercial business which makes it available for members to use at any time for their pre-match warm-up or post-match warm-down. The door will be left open for easy access.

Junior Inter-Insular

Congratulations to the Jersey U18s and U14s teams on their win against Guernsey in the Inter-Insular on Sunday! The under 14's won 5-1 and the under 18's won 7-5! It was a great weekend of tennis and everyone played so well! Thank you to the coaches, Scott who supervised the U18s in Guernsey and Ian with the U14s in Jersey. Also to Sue Holland for providing the Jersey contingent with lunch.

Andrew Evans

Just to let members know that Andrew Evans is currently off to have an operation on his shoulder due to an injury. We hope it goes well and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Bungalow Update

The present tenants will be leaving at the end of February and we are pleased to report that we have new tenants ready to move in and will be resuming the security operations of the club.

The fences that were damaged in the storm around the bungalow are now complete, which has really improved the aesthetic of the entrance to the club. Thanks to Sue Holland for coordinating.
