Clubhouse Bar
As many of you know, our bar steward, Tony, has now left the Club. Having reviewed the profit and loss data of the morning/lunch bar operation, the Committee have decided that they will not be looking to employ a replacement steward. This means that the bar will no longer open during the day Monday to Friday. It is hoped that the bar will be open on Saturday and Sunday mornings to provide a beverage service. In addition, the Club is sourcing a new coffee and tea machine which will allow hot drinks to be available 7 days a week. In the meantime, there is a coffee/tea station available in the bar lounge area for members to help themselves. We are also advertising for bar staff so if you know of anyone who would be interested please contact the office.

Caesarean Awards Night Update
Following a disappointing response to the proposed annual awards night, it has been decided to abandon the project. Of the limited responses received from members, 40% said that they would not be interested in attending, which has meant that the Club had no choice but to cancel the planned arrangements.
Outdoor Court Update
Prep work has started on fence posts around courts 5-6. Wind damaged fence on Court 1 has been repaired. Tree work is complete. Hedge work at the main road and to the left of the revolving bubble entrance is planned for October.

Hugh Raymond
Tributes are being paid to former Trinity Deputy Hugh Raymond, who recently passed away. Hugh was a popular figure in island sport, having previously chaired the Jersey Sports Council and he enjoyed a long standing relationship with the Caesarean Tennis Club. Working as the LTA representative for the Channel islands, he was tournament organiser of the exceptional Challenger Events at Les Ormes and was the force behind the original Jeux Des Iles. Hugh was elected to the States Assembly in 2018 and served as Assistant Health, Assistant Economic Development and Assistant Infrastructure Minister during his four year term. The Caesarean Tennis Club would like to express our deepest sympathy to Hugh’s family and friends.
