American Tournament
Over the past few years we have organised an American Tournament for our members and this year is no exception. Sue and Nigel will be organising this fun event again which is to take place on Sunday 17th July from 2pm to 4.30pm followed by a prize giving while enjoying tea and cake. Please note that this is a fun event open to all adult playing members. The cost will be £5pp payable on the day.
We have booked out all outside courts so our maximum numbers are 32. This tournament can only run on multiples of 4. You do not need a partner to enter. Please send an email to Sue ASAP on suemholland51@gmail.com if you wish to be included. Entries for this event close on Thursday 14th July. Sue will send you details on how the tournament is run.
BNP Paribas Summer Tournament
Let's hope you have already marked in your diary the date for this LTA Open Tournament. Starts on Sunday 14th August and finishes on Friday 19th August. It is an LTA Tournament and gives all the tennis players in the island a great opportunity to experience such a tournament held under LTA Rules. The Easter Tournament was a great success and in particular for our younger members. We would also love to encourage our adult and veteran players, who are more than able to take part in this tournament, to support the club and the organisation it takes to put on the show and also our sponsors for so generously financing the event.

Ladies Team Tennis (LTT)
The final evening for the first session of LTT was last Tuesday. The winning team was headed up by Tina Thomasson but thanks go out to all the team captains and players for supporting Jo. Numbers were down on previous years but this did not detract from the fun experienced by all. A presentation to the winning team and thank you gifts were given to the captains. Our resident representative from Quilter Cheviot, Tom Hiles, joined the ladies for supper and presented the prizes and gifts.

Lights in the Bubble
A kindly reminder to all those who book and play in the Bubble to PLEASE turn off the lights when you leave. Last Thursday our committee meeting finished at 9.20pm, and we came outside to note that both courts were lit up like a Christmas Tree. This is not helping to reduce our huge electricity bills.
